Did I break my KitchenAid?
I was just kneading some bread dough, half whole grain, half white. I decided to make 1.5x my normal recipe which in retrospect I realize is probably the problem as it would be pushing the limits according to the manual. It was working fine just on the lowest setting so I moved it up a notch and after a minute or so it just stopped turning with a deep whirring noise. I stopped it straight away and took everything off it and tried it again with no beaters or anything but it’s still the same. It got a bit warm, but not ridiculously hot. It’s the heavy duty model. I love my machine – have I killed it? 
well unfortunately, I think you did. You may want to call a repairman. I would start with the company first though and see what they say
