Kitchenaid Pasta Machine
Kitchenaid Pasta Machine

Does a Kitchenaid with a dough hook have enough guts to make pasta dough?
I’ve always made pasta dough in my food processor, but it died on me a couple years ago. I have since used my pasta roller for fimo/sculpy clay. Can I use something to wash my pasta machine so it’s usable for food again? Can my Kitchenaid make pasta dough? Thanks in advance.
Depends… it seems that a lot of newer Kitchenaid mixers have trouble mixing thicker doughs like pasta or bread. Something about cheap gears and parts breaking inside the mixer according to some reviews on Viewpoints… If you have an older one though, they seem to be unbreakable and should be fine mixing pasta dough!
