IS THERE A TRICK TO MAKE SPRITZ CHRISTMAS COOKIES?
I’m having a devil of a time today making spritz Christmas cookies. I bought a Wilton cookie press and followed the cookie dough recipe to the tee. I put the dough into the cylinder and did everything according to the directions but the cookie dough is not coming out correctly in the shapes they should be. They are sticking to the parchment paper and not separating from the shaping disks and keeping the desired shape (i.e. trees, snowflakes, etc.) Its maddening! Any help out there? What am I doing wrong? Thanks.
They are suppose to stick to the parchment paper or pan. Been making cookies for over 40 years and NEVER ever used parchment paper. IT is too expensive and more trouble than it is worth.
When you are finished pressing the cookie, make a small twist backward to break off the cookie(assuming your press is a twist top)
It does take a bit of a knack to get it right so keep trying.
Also, less dough pressed into the shape is better than more.
